Two days before the wedding, Verlander was in the United States playing Game 7 of the MLB World Series, with his girlfriend in the stands.

When the couple began wedding planning, Houston Astros pitcher Justin Verlander never imagined he would make it to Game 7 of the World Series, so the two decided to set Nov. 4 as their wedding day. However, they were in Los Angeles on Nov. 2 instead of on their way to Italy for their marriage. In the end, the couple made it in time for the best day of their lives.

For his part, Justin Verlander wore a tuxedo by Cicchini Custom Clothier that had a surprise embroidered on it. On the inside of the blazer, the baseball player added a phrase that read “newlyweds” and that, when worn open, would be visible to the naked eye. A detail that Upton thought was a nice gesture.
